 CEV 2009 - 2014 European Parliament Manifesto :
Do you engage for those who engage?

CEV launched this manifesto with suggestions how the Members of the European Parliament can contribute to recognise, to promote and to support volunteering and the efforts of volunteers all over Europe.

CEV in the name of volunteer organisations all across Europe and more than 100 million volunteers call upon the  members of the European Parliament to support our ten priorities during their mandate 2009 – 2014:

1. A sucessful European Year of Volunteering 2011;

2. Recognition of volunteering as a non-formal and informal learning experience;

3. Better data on volunteering in the EU and recoginition of its economic value;

4. Facilitation of the development of national strategies to promote volunteering in 27 Member States;

5. Recognition of and investment in a volunteering infrastructure;

6. Encouraging Member States and the institutions of the EU to create a favourable financial environment for volunteering;

7. A White Paper on Volunteering at EU level;

8. Adoption of a status for "European Associations";

9. Ongoing partnership between the European Parliament and civil society;
