SEE YOUth in action for 2011 European Year of Volunteering!


Timeframe: The activities of the project will last from May 2010 to May 2011.

 

Summary of the project

SEE YOUth in action for 2011 European Year of Volunteering! aims to prepare fertile ground for the implementation of the European year of Volunteering 2011 in the region of South East Europe (SEE). The activities will last 12 months and gather 12 promoters coming from 8 SEE countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bulgaria and Slovenia) and CEV and SEEYN organisations.

 

The objectives of the project

·          To promote volunteering and European Year of Volunteering 2011 in SEE countries;

·          To ensure recognition and support for European Year of Volunteering 2011 from governments in SEE countries;

·          To increase capacities of NGOs and public institutions in volunteering management;

·          To link SEE countries with European Year of Volunteering 2011 campaign on European level.


 

The activities foreseen to take place

·          Promotional campaign targeting youth;

·          Advocacy for concrete measures on volunteering;

·          Research on legislation and volunteer landscape;

·          Trainings for quality volunteer management;

·          Development of country online database on volunteer recruitment;

·          Development and support of different online tools on volunteering.

Role of CEV in the project

SEEYN and CEV secretariats will facilitate exchange of ideas and expertise and provide promoters with news, references and input for their activities. CEV’s main tasks in the project include:

·          Exchange news and information about initiatives at European level on the European Year of Volunteering 2011;

·          Consult and advice promoters in SEE region on developing the campaign, advocacy actions and policy statements;

·          Link promoters from SEE countries with other relevant experts, organisations and institutions across Europe;

·          Provide visibility to the project at European level.
