Volunteers and volunteer centres can play an important role in the family mediation. Both volunteers and voluntary organisations work with the most vulnerable groups and in deprived areas so they identify the problems and conflicts at an early stage and direct families towards mediators (mediations centers and crisis centers) and vice versa by informing mediators, judges, courts, social services about a need for meditation in families at risk.
Detailed information about the project (information on family mediation in Europe, objectives, partners, phases and other supporting documents)

LACE focused on the transition of senior citizens of the so-called baby boomer generation from work life to retirement with the need to define a new role for themselves. LACE compared existing programmes in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany aiming at volunteer involvement of older citizens and explored the transferability of these initiatives to other countries such as Ireland, Slovenia and Italy. This project started in October 2005 and was funded through the GRUNDTVIG programme of the European Commission. CEV was part of the advisory committee to this project. For further information please check LACE website.
