Member information

FUNDAR was created in 2001, from a pioneer agreement between the Regional Government of Valencia and Bancaja (Valencian regional savings bank), to encourage voluntary work and solidarity throughout the local non-profit organisations of the Valencian Community in Spain.

FUNDAR has put in place different lines of action, which include:

• Training of volunteers
• Development of research lines in the field of solidarity
• The promotion of cooperation amongst local organisations
• Promotion of solidarity and voluntary work amongst the citizens of the Valencian Community
• Technical, financial and material equipment to local voluntary centres
• Support to volunteers, entities and institutions
• Collaboration and development of joint initiatives with voluntary associations and institutions at local and international levels
• Dissemination of information by means of specialised publications
  

Some figures

• 1,600 non-profit organisations are registered in the FUNDAR data base
• Between 2001-2002, FUNDAR gave financial support to 71 volunteer work projects carried out by local associations
• FUNDAR has carried out the organisation of 20 events gathering more than 200 experts and 2000 participants
• Since 2001, more than 200 courses attended by 2600 students have been completed in the FUNDAR Annual Training Plan
• FUNDAR Secretariat manages a Network of 13 Local Centres of Voluntary Work in the Valencian Community, which reached more than 25,000 volunteers in 2002

Through its European Office in Brussels, FUNDAR have promoted and implemented several European projects, supported by the European Commission, focused on some important fields such as:

• Corporate Social Responsibility
• Social Dialogue
• Euromed Civil Forum, Euromed Observatory on Volunteerism, White Paper on the Euromed Third Sector
• European Network of Regional Centres on Solidarity and Voluntary Work
• Yearly International Encounters on Social Affairs
