Mission

The Association for Civil Society Development SMART is a non-profit organisation aimed at strengthening and supporting the development of the non-profit sector in Croatia. SMART implements educational training, technical assistance and consultations, gathers and distributes relevant information to NGOs, informal groups and individuals. In addition, SMART works with the public and business sectors for the benefit of non-profit organisations.
SMART activities are based on the principles of empowerment, participatory involvement and maintenance of positive initiatives, stimulation of cooperation, mutual understanding, personal responsibility, life-long learning and respect for differences.

The overall objective:

To promote the values of volunteering and to integrate volunteering in the community

The specific objectives

To improve information dissemination on volunteering
To empower non-profit organisations to include volunteers in their activities
To encourage and establish intersectoral cooperation
To encourage volunteering through educational systems
To improve the status of volunteers in the community
To motivate a larger number of people to volunteer
